Martin’s second Dunk and Egg novella, The Sworn Sword, Season 2 of HBO's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms shifts the focus from the grand tourneys of the Seven Kingdoms to a localised, intimate, yet high-stakes conflict. Set roughly a year and a half after the events of Season 1, the six-episode season explores the grim realities of the Westerosi peasantry and the lingering scars of civil war.
